The project needed stable conditions, clear local operation, and control methods suited to a specialist research environment.
Specialist spaces need stable conditions and clear visibility. Small changes in air movement, temperature, ventilation or air quality can matter more than they would in a standard room, so the control system has to be designed with that sensitivity in mind.
Automatry delivered the control systems for the lab refurbishment, supporting tighter environmental control, higher sensing density and local operation that gives the space a clearer view of how it is performing.
Control with context
This kind of work is where controls engineering becomes more than a list of points. The system needs to respond to the actual use of the space, make sensor data useful, and give engineers enough context to tune behaviour over time.
For us, the project is a useful example of why good BMS work still depends on attention to detail: sensing, control strategy, user interfaces, commissioning and the discipline to keep the system understandable after the project is complete.
